Hi, I'm Allie Wilding. Welcome to my website.
I'm an educator, writer, digital journalist, and musician. I'm interested in the intersection of storytelling and sound as well as narrative journalism.
I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area, and after a stint in Prague, graduated from UC Santa Barbara’s College of Creative Studies with a B.A. in literature. For four years, I taught high school English and coordinated a college-access program in the Baltimore City Public Schools.
I left the classroom to earn a Master’s degree in multimedia journalism from the University of Maryland, College Park. I have reported on topics such as education, politics, and urban affairs. In 2010, I interned with NPR’s Weekend Edition. I worked as a reporter covering national community development issues for Community Development Digest as well as the development news editor for Bmore Media. I also served as the communications director for a national nonprofit education research organization in DC.
I currently teach digital media and journalism at the Washington International School (WIS) in Washington, DC.
